Resources for Parents

Parent Info provides high quality information to parents and carers about their children's wellbeing and resilience.

In line with CEOP’s Thinkuknow programme, some of the content covers internet safety, but it all starts from the assumption that young people make little distinction between their online and offline lives and the issues for parents are often the same. The aim is to help parents help their children be discriminating, web-literate and resilient.

Our school uses the Read, Write Inc phonics scheme. All of the children complete this and have a 15 minute phonics session every day. When they are in Year 1, the children will complete a phonics screening check in June. It takes a very short tine to complete and is done in class with Mrs Hewitt. To find out more follow the link to watch a short video.

The principal reading scheme we use is Oxford Reading Tree. Oxford University Press has an excellent website called Oxford Owl with access to e-books and activities you can complete with your child.
